H.J.Res. 77 – Opposing the decision to end certain United States efforts to prevent Turkish military operations against Syrian Kurdish forces in Northeast Syria (Rep. Engel – Foreign Affairs)

This joint resolution rebukes the White House for green-lighting the Turkish military incursion into Syrian Kurdish territory, expresses strong support for Syrian Kurdish forces, and calls on Turkey to immediately cease military action in Northeast Syria. It also calls on the White House to present a clear and specific plan for the enduring defeat of ISIS.

H.R. 3889 – ONDCP Technical Corrections Act of 2019, as amended (Rep. Rouda – Oversight and Reform)

This bill amends the Substance Abuse Prevention Act (P.L. 115-271, Title VIII, Subtitle K), which reauthorized the Office of National Drug Control Policy, to address grammatical and referencing errors.

H.R. 1496 – Presidential Allowance Modernization Act of 2019, as amended (Rep. Hice – Oversight and Reform)

This bill would amend the Former Presidents Act of 1958 to cap a future former President’s annual pension at $200,000 and would provide an annual allowance of $200,000 for the conduct of the duties of former presidents, both indexed for inflation. The annual allowance would be reduced if a former President’s income exceeds $400,000.  The bill also would increase the pension for a surviving spouse of a former President from $20,000 to $100,000, indexed to inflation.   The bill would not affect the funding for the security or protection of future former Presidents.
