WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. House Majority Whip James E. Clyburn has chosen Black History Month to launch a new podcast today entitled, “Clyburn Chronicles.” This podcast is an opportunity to listen in as Congressman Clyburn and his guests discuss the intersection of history and politics, two of the Congressman’s passions.

“I am a lover of history and I see this platform as a way to connect history with the politics of today. This is so important, because as George Santayana once said, ‘those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it,’” said Majority Whip Clyburn. “Each episode, my guest and I will have a conversation about the lessons of the past, the politics of the present, and how we must learn from those experience to help shape the future.”

The first episode features Lonnie G. Bunch, III, 14th Secretary of the Smithsonian and the founding director of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture. Secretary Bunch shares his memories of creating NMAAHC, his new role as Secretary of the Smithsonian Institute, and the importance of preserving our history.

New episodes will air monthly and are available on Apple iTunes, Spotify, and Google Play or can be found via https://clyburnchronicles.podbean.com/.
