Clyburn Statement on the Passing of Ike Skelton

WASHINGTON — U.S. House Assistant Democratic Leader James E. Clyburn released the following statement on the passing of his former colleague Ike Skelton:

“Emily and I are deeply saddened by the passing of our dear friend Ike Skelton. He was a true statesman, dedicated to service and his country. His leadership on the Armed Services Committee was a labor of love, and his commitment to our military men and women was extraordinary. Ike Skelton led by example and he will be truly missed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his wife Patty and their children in this difficult time.”
