H.R. 312 – Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe Reservation Reaffirmation Act (Rep. Keating – Natural Resources) (Subject to a Rule)

This bill would reaffirm the status of the Mashpee Wampanoag reservation and make clear that the Tribe is entitled to be treated the same way as other federally recognized tribes.

The Rule provides for one hour of general debate, equally divided and controlled by the Chair and Ranking Member of the Committee on Natural Resources.

This bill makes technical corrections regarding the Quadrennial Homeland Security Review (QHSR), a framework for the missions and goals of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) that is required every four years. Among the key provisions are refinements to the deadline, more specificity on outreach to stakeholders, and requirements for supporting documentation. A previous version of this bill was reported from the Committee on a voice vote in the 115th Congress (HR 1297), and passed the House under suspension 415-0 (3/20/17).
