Floor Schedule and Procedure: Suspensions (4 bills):
This bill authorizes support for the expansion of Holocaust education programs and the availability of Holocaust education resources for educators.
This bill provides for a Congressional Gold Medal to be awarded to the U.S. Merchant Mariners of World War II, in recognition of their service during World War II. These civilian volunteers with the U.S. Merchant Marine were the supply line that provided Allied forces with food and other necessities. During World War II, the Merchant Marine suffered a higher casualty rate than any branch of the military, losing 9,300 men, with most of the losses occurring in 1942.
The bill directs the National Science Foundation to provide for multidisciplinary research on the science of suicide, and to advance the knowledge and understanding of issues that may be associated with several aspects of suicide including intrinsic and extrinsic factors related to areas such as wellbeing, resilience, and vulnerability.
This bill promotes veteran involvement in STEM education, computer science, and scientific research through better integration of veterans issues within existing National Science Foundation programs and improved program coordination across the Federal STEM agencies. |
