H.R. 5 – Equality Act (Rep. Cicilline – Judiciary)

The Rule, which was adopted on Wednesday, provides for 90 minutes of debate equally divided and controlled by the Chair and Ranking Member of the Committee on Judiciary.

This bill ensures LGBTQ Americans are guaranteed the full protections of federal civil rights laws. This historic legislation extends anti-discrimination protections to LGBTQ Americans with regard to employment, education, access to credit, jury service, federal funding, housing and public accommodations.
