The House Committee on the Judiciary’s section of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act reinforces President Trump’s historic efforts to secure the southern border and halt illegal immigration by investing in ICE personnel, removals, and detention capacity.

Here is what stakeholders are saying:

America First Policy Institute, Greg Sindelar, Interim President and Chief Executive Officer: “This legislation represents a clear return to an America First Agenda. President Trump, Chairman Jordan, and other America First members of Congress have been working tirelessly to put America’s recovery back on track, and this legislation does that. This legislation includes dozens of reforms to secure the border, bolster enforcement, and stop malign foreign actors from undercutting American workers. President Trump’s Guaranteeing the States Protection Against Invasion proclamation, Securing Our Borders executive order, and dozens of other immigration policies strengthen our broken asylum system and empower the Department of Homeland Security to fulfill its mission to protect the American people. These reforms and others enable extending tax cuts to save Americans thousands and reject the tax hikes that far-Left extremists want to pay for a bloated, wasteful government. Congress needs to move as quickly as possible to secure our border, fight illegal immigration, expand economic prosperity, and empower families.”

Federation for American Immigration Reform: “Expanding removal operations is essential to enforcing our immigration laws and restoring the rule of law. The funds provided in this reconciliation package are indispensable to achieving those goals and fulfilling President Trump’s mandate to deport the millions of illegal aliens residing in the country. FAIR is proud to support these funding measures to keep American communities safe and send a clear message around the world that the days of open borders are over.”

Foundation for Government Accountability, Tarren Bragdon, President and Chief Executive Officer: “Chairman Jordan and the House Judiciary Committee are doing what Washington too often avoids. They're pushing real solutions that restore law and order. By empowering local law enforcement to help enforce federal immigration laws, these reforms close loopholes, support our officers, and make our communities safer.”

Immigration Accountability Project: “The House Judiciary Committee has released the text of its part of the budget reconciliation process. It includes a total of just over $81 billion for interior enforcement, including more ICE officers and 100,000 detention beds. It’s a good package. It covers what ICE can reasonably expect to accomplish over the next 4 years. Also, if it turns out there are specific shortages, those could be addressed in the annual appropriations bills.”

Independent Women's Forum: “The Center for American Safety and Security at Independent Women fully supports the immigration funding measures outlined in the reconciliation package under H. Con. Res. 14 for Fiscal Year 2025. We commend the House Judiciary Committee for their strong leadership and for understanding clearly what Americans want—a secure border and orderly immigration. Americans are supportive of government spending when it’s responsible, transparent, and matches their priorities, which is exactly what this package represents. Increasing resources for removals, hiring additional ICE personnel, and expanding detention capacity are key steps in protecting national security and ensuring community safety. Additionally, bolstering immigration courts and supporting policies like the Migrant Protection Protocols helps maintain order and fairness at our borders. Enhancing cooperation with state and local law enforcement through targeted initiatives and programs further strengthens this comprehensive approach. These investments show government effectively working for its citizens, prioritizing both security and sensible immigration management.”

NumbersUSA: “NumbersUSA proudly supports the Judiciary Committee’s reconciliation legislation. Chairman Jim Jordan has put together an excellent bill that provides much needed resources to deport criminal illegal immigrants and restore law and order to America’s immigration system”

Small Business & Entrepreneurship Council, Karen Kerrigan, President and Chief Executive Officer: “SBE Council is pleased that the House Judiciary Committee’s reconciliation title includes important reforms to improve the federal rulemaking process, strengthen accountability, and in the end reduce regulatory burdens on small businesses. By providing $20 billion in funding to improve regulatory accountability, review and transparency, reforms provided by the legislation will ensure that federal regulatory agencies are conducting their required work in considering the impact of proposed rules on entrepreneurs and small businesses. These reforms are essential to fostering a competitive business environment, and promoting investment and innovation. A policy ecosystem that supports entrepreneurship and small business growth is one that does not erect unnecessary regulatory barriers or maintain outdated rules that engulf small businesses with costs or hurdles that prevent them from growing and succeeding. SBE Council strongly supports the Committee’s work to improve the regulatory process, which will lead to a stronger economy and more resilient small businesses.”
