Majority Whip Touts House Republicans’ Efforts to Combat Fraud

House Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-Minn.) and House Republicans continue to take steps to combat fraud and protect taxpayers’ money. This month alone, House Republicans have passed 12 bills focused on combatting fraud. 


The bills, which originated in the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform and the Committee on Education and the Workforce, will help federal agencies better identify and address fraud.

  • H.R. 8340, Taxpayer Funds Oversight and Accountability Act

  • H.R. 8428, Federal Fraud Prevention Workforce Training Act

  • H.R. 8463, Pre-Payment Fraud Prevention and Treasury Data Access Act

  • H.R. 8464, Stopping Fraudulent Payments Act

  • H.R. 8466, Taxpayer Resources Used in Emergencies Accountability Act

  • H.R. 8467, Zeroing Out Monetary Benefits Improperly Expended Act

“As we work to hold fraudsters and their enablers accountable, it’s important we put additional safeguards in place to protect taxpayers’ money and prevent what happened in Minnesota from ever happening again,” said Whip Emmer. “The legislation passed by House Republicans will strengthen fraud prevention and identification efforts within the federal government.
