Whip Emmer Hosts Law Enforcement Roundtable, Pizza for Police Event in Celebration of National Police Week

This National Police Week, House Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-Minn.) hosted law enforcement officers, stakeholder groups, and fellow members of Congress for a law enforcement roundtable and a “Pizza for Police” appreciation lunch.

Police officers are the frontline defenders of our families, businesses, and communities, and they deserve all the recognition and gratitude in the world,” said Whip Emmer. This National Police Week, we were grateful to host law enforcement officers from all over the country in our office to honor their hard work and hear how Congress can better support them, their work, and their families. Our message to our men and women in blue is the same this week and always: thank you.”

On Wednesday, Whip Emmer hosted a roundtable with several law enforcement organizations and Members of Congress to discuss how Republicans can continue to support police forces across the country.

The roundtable featured Representatives Pete Stauber (R-Minn.), Mike Ezell (R-Miss.), Derek Schmidt (R-Kan.), and Gabe Evans (R-Colo.).

Law enforcement groups in attendance included the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, the Major County Sheriffs of America, the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association, the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area, the National Association of Police Organizations, the National Fusion Center Association, the National Sheriffs' Association, and the National Narcotic Officers’ Associations’ Coalition.

Whip Emmer also hosted a “Pizza for Police” appreciation lunch for Capitol Police and other law enforcement groups visiting from across the nation. Over a dozen Members of Congress were also in attendance.
