WASHINGTON – Today, House Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-Minn.) announced Blaine Police Chief Brian Podany and Blaine Brothers Board Chairman Dean Dally as his guests to President Trump’s State of the Union address tomorrow evening. Chief Podany has more than 30 years of law enforcement experience and is the son and grandson of law enforcement officers. After serving over 20 years in the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office, he became the City of Blaine’s Police Chief in 2017. For 45 years, Blaine Brothers has provided trucking parts, service, and sales to customers in Minnesota. With just over 400 employees, this family business continually invests in our communities by creating jobs and keeping our truckers’ wheels turning. Blaine Brothers was recently awarded the 2025 HIRE Vets Medallion Award by the U.S. Department of Labor. "Chief Brian Podany and Mr. Dean Dally are two great leaders in our community, and we're excited to host them for this year's State of the Union address,” Whip Emmer said. “Not only are they stand-up guys, but Chief Podany, Mr. Dally, and their industries are experiencing the benefits of the Working Families Tax Cuts - no tax on overtime, less regulation, and pro-growth business policies. Blaine is the largest city in our district, and through these partnerships with our law enforcement and business communities, we are able to secure the future success and growth of Blaine." "As a member of law enforcement for over 30 years and the Chief of Police for Blaine, Minnesota, I am honored to be one of Congressman Tom Emmer’s State of the Union guests,” Chief Podany said. “Tom has been a friend for years and continues working to support law enforcement and our families through his work in Congress. In addition to helping secure vital Federal funding for Highway 65 in Blaine, one of the most dangerous stretches of roadway in the State, he has helped to support funding for the Byrne Jag program and HIDTA, he has also championed the Law Enforcement Mental Health and Wellness Act Program. Tom has also helped our rank-and-file officers with the new no tax on overtime provision, something that is helpful with recruitment and retention for public safety. We are fortunate to have him as a partner for our Blaine Community." “I am thrilled to be one of Congressman Emmer’s guests at this year’s State of the Union address,” Dean Dally said. “Blaine Brothers is a family-owned business that services the transportation industry, with just over 400 coworkers within our organization. Thanks to the new tax law, our business is benefiting from lower taxes, less regulations, and 100% immediate full expensing. Thank you to Congressman Emmer for his efforts to ensure companies like Blaine Brothers are able to thrive and grow for generations to come.” ### |
