Whip Emmer to Testify Before Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee on Minnesota Officials’ Lack of Cooperation with Federal Government

House Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-Minn.) will testify at Chairman Rand Paul’s (R-Ky.) Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at 9am ET. The oversight hearing will focus on the need for local and state cooperation with federal immigration enforcement in Minnesota. Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison, Minnesota State House Majority Leader Harry Niska, and Minnesota Department of Corrections Commissioner Paul Schnell are also expected to testify.

“The chaos in my home state of Minnesota could have been avoided if Tim Walz, Keith Ellison, and Mayor Small Frey allowed local cooperation with Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Thank God for President Trump’s leadership and Border Czar Tom Homan’s expertise. Homan is on the ground and we’re hopeful that coordination between local and federal law enforcement will continue. I’m grateful to Chairman Paul for letting me be a voice for all Minnesotans who want to live in safe and secure communities at this hearing,” said Whip Emmer.

“I look forward to having the Majority Whip before my committee this week to share his perspective on the issues in Minnesota,” said Chairman Paul.
