Whip Emmer, House Republicans host permitting reform roundtable discussion with key stakeholders

Today, Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-Minn.) hosted lawmakers and stakeholder groups for a discussion on permitting reform ahead of House action on legislation to cut red tape, lower costs, and speed up permitting for energy and infrastructure projects.

Whip Emmer was joined by Representatives Nick Begich (R-Alaska), Jeff Hurd (R-Colo.), Celeste Maloy (R-Utah), Addison McDowell (R-N.C.), Jefferson Shreve (R-Ind.), Dave Taylor (R-Ohio), as well as representatives from stakeholder groups including Anthropic, the American Road & Transportation Builders Association, the Data Center Coalition, the Edison Electric Institute, the Interstate Natural Gas Association of America, Meta, the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association, the National Asphalt Pavement Association, the Seaman Corporation, and the Steel Manufacturers Association.

“For far too long, American energy and infrastructure have been suffocated by needless red tape,” said Whip Emmer. “Stakeholder voices are essential as Republicans take decisive legislative action to eliminate hurdles and speed up permitting. By working together, we can deliver on our promise to unleash American energy, lower costs, and make America energy dominant again.”
