CNN is out with an article today detailing Majority Whip Tom Emmer’s efforts to keep House Republicans united in what some are calling “the hardest job in Washington.”
Here is what some House Republicans are saying about Whip Emmer’s ability to unify the Conference:
Rep. Patrick McHenry (NC): “He understands the political moment we are in, and he understands members and he actually is secretly a policy guy too. It’s a tough job, but he has the capacity to pull people together. He’s quite flexible in how he responds, but he is dogged in pursuing the outcome.”
Rep. Scott Perry (PA): “Tom’s pretty open. You kind of know where you stand right up front whether you like it or not, which is good.”
Rep. Jeff Duncan (SC): “He knows a lot of these new members because he helped recruit them and helped them win their elections. That gives him a leg up.”
