Whip Emmer on the Democrat government shutdown:

“We have a funding bill that was passed with all Republican votes and only one Democrat back on September 19th, John, well in advance of the September 30th funding deadline. Chuck Schumer has decided to make this a ridiculous hill to stand on. And you refer to this rally that the pro-terrorist wing of the Democrat Party is going to be holding on, but it sounds like Chuck Schumer and Democrats in the Senate, including your two senators, Kaine and Warner, are going to refuse to fund our government. They're going to hurt everyday Americans that rely on these, I mean, our troops, our TSA agents, our air traffic controllers. I mean, the list is very long. Apparently, they're going to wait until this pro-terrorist rally takes place on the 18th. If that's true, John, Americans should be even more furious than they're going to be starting next week.”

Whip Emmer on how the Democrat shutdown could impact Virginia:

“Mark Warner and Tim Kaine need to do the right thing. And quite frankly, all those federal workers that are out there, John, and the federal contractors who will be hurt even more—you know, federal contractors don't get back pay. They just lose the money. And these are huge constituencies in the state of Virginia that Warner and Kaine represent. It may actually have an impact on your elections in just a few weeks.”

Whip Emmer on failed Democrat leader across America refusing to keep their citizens safe, including Minnesota Governor Tim Walz:

“I mean, I've got a state where Tim Walz has made us a sanctuary state or a trans refuge state or all this BS that makes no sense whatsoever…They're not taking care of crime. Tim Walz could call out the National Guard himself. We had 12 shootings on a Monday just a couple weeks ago in Minneapolis. 12, John. 12. But does that get reported? No. These guys in Chicago, it's like a war zone. You got to be careful when you go from one downtown establishment to another at night because you're taking your life into your own hands in some cases. Why? Because a failed mayor of the city of Chicago who is more interested in politics than he is in protecting the people who hired him to do the job. And those fools aren't holding him accountable. And this J.B. Pritzker, he's got no business being in charge of even a buffet. I mean, obviously. These guys are the problem. Look at Tim Walz. Tim Walz literally let Minneapolis burn down because he would not call out the National Guard. It wasn't until Donald J. Trump threatened him that he was going to do it that he finally did back in 2020. Now, he could do it yesterday. J.B. Pritzker could do this yesterday. But they hate Donald Trump so much, they are willing to put their people at risk every day instead of making them safe, which is what Donald Trump campaigned on. Restoring law and order, making America safe again.”

Whip Emmer on left-wing political violence:

“You were talking about a poll that came out that I've seen some of it where apparently Democrats in Virginia, I think a quarter of them that were polled, don't have a problem with violence. They think violence might be necessary. We've gone off the rails, John. I've got this evil, evil anti-American representative in Minneapolis named Ilhan Omar who has spent the last several weeks since the tragic assassination of Charlie Kirk, implying that that assassination was somehow justified. This is who they are. We have to recognize this is who they are, and that is unacceptable in this country. That's why I don't care if you're a Republican, Democrat, or other. You got to recognize we're better than that, John. We're better than that.”

Whip Emmer on Democrat nominee for Virginia Attorney General Jay Jones’ recently revealed text messages:

“You pointed out there's a problem in Virginia when you've got a guy running for office who literally is dreaming of murdering, assassinating a political adversary or colleague. But not just a colleague, his wife and his children? It's insane, John. It's insane. Those people have no business having election certificates. And frankly, they should be investigated for, you know, are they potentially violent? Is he screaming for help out there because something might trigger him to do something even more dangerous? I don't know. But that's a mental health issue. That's the crisis that we're dealing with across this country and in my state. When people are saying things like that, we need to engage them and find out what's wrong with them. That's just not acceptable.”
