WASHINGTON, DC - House Majority Whip James Clyburn (SC-6) today commented on the passing of Rep. Charlie Norwood.

"Even though Congressman Norwood was from Georgia, more often than not, he flew out of Columbia South Carolina, to the Nation's Capital when we were in session. I got to know him quite well on those flights back to Washington D.C.. We often talked about politics, our differing views, and smiled about how we canceled each other out. We shared a love of country and respect for one another. He was a great Congressman who served his constituents well. Those who got to know him as I did, came to love and respect him as a treasured colleague and great American. My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time."
