Floor Schedule and Procedure:

Senate Amendment to H.R. 5376 – Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 (Reps. Yarmuth/Neal/Pallone – Budget/Ways and Means/Energy and Commerce)

This transformative legislation includes Democratic priorities to lower health care and energy costs, combat climate change, and ensure that large corporations pay their fair share.

This bill allows Medicare to negotiate prescription drug prices while capping out-of-pocket costs at $2000, extends Affordable Care Act subsidies, and caps insulin at $35 per month for Medicare beneficiaries. The bill also includes approximately $369 billion in investments in clean energy to reduce carbon pollution by approximately 40% by 2030 and targeted funding to strengthen America’s energy security. The bill is fully paid for and reduces the deficit by $300 billion.  It makes corporations with over $1 billion in income pay a minimum 15% tax.

By reducing the deficit, lowering costs of prescription drugs and health insurance, and investing in our energy independence, this bill will lower costs for American families both in the short and long term and create millions of clean energy jobs.
