  • Begin Consideration of H.Con.Res. 24 – Expressing the sense of Congress that the report of Special Counsel Mueller should be made available to the public and to Congress (Rep. Nadler – Judiciary)

Making Special Counsel Mueller’s report public is consistent with the intent of the Special Counsel Regulations, and most importantly, the interests of the American public. This transparency is a fundamental principle necessary to ensure that government remains accountable to the people. 

The Rule provides for one hour of debate equally divided and controlled by the Chair and Ranking Member of the Judiciary Committee.

**Members are advised that the House is only expected to consider the Rule for H.Con.Res. 24 today. Final Passage is expected to be considered tomorrow.

  1. H.Res. 206 – Acknowledging that the lack of sunlight and transparency in financial transactions and corporate formation poses a threat to our national security and our economy’s security and supporting efforts to close related loopholes, as amended (Rep. Waters – Financial Services)

This transparency resolution expresses support for the closure of loopholes that facilitate money laundering, corruption, terrorism, and financial crime. It also urges financial institutions and its employees to comply with related law and regulation and expresses the view of Congress that those who do not should be held accountable.
