This resolution recognizes the importance of financial literacy and encourages and supports efforts to increase financial planning among students and young adults.

  1. H.R. 1876 – Senior Security Act of 2019 (Rep. Gottheimer – Financial Services)

This bill amends the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 to establish the Senior Investor Taskforce within the Securities and Exchange Commission. The taskforce must report on topics relating to investors over the age of 65, including industry trends and serious issues impacting such investors, and make recommendations for legislative or regulatory actions to address problems encountered by senior investors. The GAO must also report on the costs of the financial exploitation of senior citizens.

  1. H.Res. 328 – Supporting the protection of elders through financial literacy (Rep. Casten – Financial Services)

This resolution outlines many of the financial literacy and financial fraud issues that seniors face and expresses support for methods and efforts to continue to combat financial fraud, particularly for seniors.

  1. H.R. 1449 – To designate the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 3033 203rd Street in Olympia Fields, Illinois, as the “Captain Robert L. Martin Post Office” (Rep. Kelly (IL) – Oversight and Reform)
