McCarthy Statement on February Jobs Report

Mar 8, 2013

Washington D.C. – House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy (CA-23) released the following statement regarding this morning’s employment report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics:

“Today's employment report is an encouraging sign to what has been an otherwise stagnant economy under the Obama administration. There is still not enough being done here in Washington to facilitate economic and job growth in the months ahead. In order for that to happen, the President and Congressional Democrats must get serious on working with House Republicans to balance the budget and reform our broken tax code. One positive jobs report does not mean that our economy is healed. American families are still struggling under the weight of this stagnant economy and the $16.4 trillion debt. There is still work that must be done, and House Republicans look forward to President Obama and Leader Reid joining our efforts to put our country on a better path forward.”
