“Thank you very much. Behind me are Members of the House Energy Action Team - HEAT. You have watched many of us on the floor debate for an energy agenda focused here in America. Today we are here to announce the next phase in the American Energy Initiative.

“With the rising gas prices, we see the need for an energy policy in America. We hear the President talk about one - his veto of the Keystone Pipeline and secondly that we are producing more oil in this country. This however is not happening on public lands. Here, we have actually decreased by 14% this past year.

“We watch this energy crisis erupt, we see a Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer ask Saudi Arabia to produce more oil. Well, we believe in American jobs, and we believe in American oil from American soil.

“We listen to the president talk about all-of-the-above? Well we believe in all-of-the-above but unfortunately, the President believes in ‘none-from-below.’

“So, today we have a list of new initiatives that will lower gas prices and at the same time build up America. Many of the new studies show that we can be energy independent through increased domestic production.

“So, as Members begin to go home to their districts, they have a card from the House Energy Action Team. It includes pieces of legislation that have passed this House, but continue to sit in the Senate that could unleash and unshackle the resources we have right here at home.”
